DA was assigned the planning of the physical expansion of the RPI campus on a 180 ha site, the organisation of its grounds and facilities, and the blending of the campus with the buildings in the immediate vicinity. The master plan provided for a linear complex of academic buildings with an area of student dormitories running parallel to it. Building area expanded from 34,120 sq.m. to 69,680 sq.m.
