A series of changes in the transportation networks serving the Athens area. Provisions concerning the ports and airports of the Athens region focussed on the development of a major LANWAIR (land, water, air) knot at Lavrion on the Aegean coast of Attica. Here the combination of a new international airport at Spata, an international land transportation terminal and important port at Lavrion would result in considerable decentralisation of the respective Athens-Piraeus facilities, constituting an excellent foundation for national and international communications with the capital.
