Greater Khartoum Structure Plan and Transportation Study - SUDAN

The objective of this project was the preparation of a strategic urban development plan and associated action programmes for the National Capital city. Services offered within the transportation dimension of this project included: Data collection phase including automatic vehicle counts, manual turning movement and classification counts, parking survey, inventory of highway network; formulation of the transportation element of the Structure Plan incorporating use of private car, bus, light rail transit, ferry services, airport and commuter railroad; formulation of a list urgently required action projects, including prefeasibility analysis and conceptual design.
